In some areas of the lumber market, there seems to be a
standoff between the mills and buyers that only a good game of
rock, paper, scissors will end.
Buyers aren’t interested with paying more and the Mills aren’t interested in selling for less as they have weeks of order files and more curtailment announcements.
Noteworthy of more discussion is the surge in housing starts that has driven builder confidence, lower interest rates and wage growth.
Supply and demand appear to be on an even playing field for now.
Pick rock, pick paper, pick scissors – it’s anyone’s game.
